Training and medical activity

Training

He holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Universitat de Barcelona (Hospital Clínic, 2013), ranked 439th out of 12,199 candidates in the MIR exam and completed his specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol in Badalona (2014–2019). He subsequently obtained accreditation from the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS).

He has furthered his training in microsurgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei and at Hospital Parc Taulí in Sabadell, and in facial surgery at the Bergamo Open Rhinoplasty Course and the XXI International Course on Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Clínica Planas. Between 2014 and 2016 he was an associate professor for the Cirurgia Plàstica, Reparadora i Estètica (Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery) course at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Teaching activity

Between 2014 and 2016 he was an associate professor for the Cirurgia Plàstica, Reparadora i Estètica (Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery) course at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, based at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol.

He has presented his work at national congresses in the specialty, with oral presentations at the 50th and 51st National Congress of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE) and at the meetings of the Catalan Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SCCPRE), focused on breast reconstruction with DIEP flap and ICAP flap, and on microsurgical reconstruction of the upper limb.

He is a member of the SECPRE and the SCCPRE, and a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS).

He is a member of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE) and the Catalan Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SCCPRE), and a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS).

Scientific and editorial activity

He has presented his work at national congresses in the specialty, with oral presentations at the 50th and 51st National Congress of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE) on immediate breast reconstruction with ICAP flap, enhanced recovery protocols in DIEP flap breast reconstruction and reconstruction of upper limb bone defects using a medial femoral condyle free flap. He has also taken part in the meetings of the Catalan Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SCCPRE) and has presented a poster on microsurgical toe-to-finger transfer.

His continuing education includes international congresses and courses in microsurgery, rhinoplasty and craniomaxillofacial surgery, at centers such as Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam and Hospital Parc Taulí in Sabadell.

Areas of specialization

His practice is built around three main areas:

  • Breast surgery. Immediate and delayed breast reconstruction after breast cancer, using microsurgical free flap techniques (DIEP) and perforator flaps (ICAP), as well as cosmetic breast surgery.
  • Facial surgery. Cosmetic facial surgery, with specific training in rhinoplasty, as well as head and neck reconstruction and facial reanimation.
  • Reconstructive surgery and microsurgery. Reconstruction after skin cancer and soft tissue sarcomas, reconstruction of traumatic defects and lymphedema surgery.
