These are not complications, but the body's normal response to the surgical procedure and the healing process:

• Moderate pain, a feeling of muscle soreness or tenderness in the treated areas during the first few days, usually manageable with the prescribed pain relief.
• Swelling and edema, especially during the first 2–4 weeks, which gradually decrease, although slight swelling may persist for several months.
• Bruising or ecchymosis in the treated areas, which usually resolves on its own within 2–3 weeks.
• A feeling of hardening or temporary fibrosis of the subcutaneous tissue during the first few weeks, as part of the normal healing process.
• Temporary changes in skin sensation, with areas of numbness or hypersensitivity that generally recover over the following months.
• A small amount of fluid leaking from the incisions during the first 24–48 hours when certain techniques are used, which is considered normal.
• Mild contour irregularities due to the initial edema, which usually correct themselves as the swelling goes down and the tissues adapt.

There is a second group of issues that, while not serious in most cases, may appear during recovery and are worth knowing about:

• Fibrosis or persistent hardening: some areas may remain firmer for several months before reaching their final appearance.

• Injury to deep structures, such as vessels or nerves, an exceptional complication when surgery is performed by experienced surgeons with correct anatomical planning.
• Persistent changes in body contour, including depressions or irregularities that may require secondary corrective procedures.
• Fat embolism, a very rare but potentially serious complication described in the medical literature, the risk of which is minimized through appropriate surgical technique and correct patient selection.
• Anesthesia-related reactions, assessed beforehand and managed by the anesthesiologist throughout the procedure.
