Gummy smile is the excessive exposure of the upper gum when smiling. It is corrected with a medical treatment at low doses applied to the muscles that elevate the upper lip, which reduces excessive lip elevation and naturally rebalances the smile.
The application of the medical treatment in muscles that elevate the upper lip for gummy smile is a validated indication in the aesthetic medical literature and included in the guidelines of the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SEME). It works specifically when the cause is hyperactivity of the upper lip elevator, not when there is gingival bone excess or dental pathology, cases that require different dental or surgical treatment.
The treatment is carried out entirely in the medical office of the Instituto de Benito in Barcelona or Madrid, in an outpatient session always designed and supervised by a licensed aesthetic doctor. It consists of the following steps:
Before the treatment, an assessment is carried out with the aesthetic doctor of the Instituto de Benito. They study your case, listen to your goals, rule out contraindications, and design a personalized plan. The first aesthetic medical visit costs €50 (deductible from the first treatment).
Diagnosis of hydration, dermal density, collagen, and firmness with 99.99% precision.
Preparation is simple: the area must be clean and free of creams. The doctor will advise if it is necessary to avoid any medication (anticoagulants, NSAIDs) in the days prior to minimize bruising, and discuss any relevant circumstances for your safety.
The doctor disinfects the area, applies topical anesthesia if necessary, and performs the microinjections with very fine needles, following the designed plan. The session is carried out entirely in consultation and the patient resumes their routine immediately.
The results appear within the expected timeframe for the treatment, with a natural and harmonious finish. The doctor provides you with home care instructions and schedules follow-up check-ups.
The final price depends on the area or areas to be treated, the product or cocktail used, and the number of sessions the doctor recommends after evaluation. The first aesthetic medical visit costs 50 € (deductible from the first treatment). We offer financing for extended treatments and packages.
Gummy smile is indicated for individuals in good general health who meet any of these profiles. The final suitability is confirmed by the doctor after a personalized evaluation.
