What is the hyaluronidase treatment?

Hyaluronidase is a medical enzyme that dissolves previously injected hyaluronic acid. It is used to correct asymmetries, overcorrections, migrations, nodules, or unnatural results, and in aesthetic emergencies. It must be administered only by a qualified medical professional.

Hyaluronidase can be applied in the following areas:

Dissolve hyaluronic acid in lips

disolver ácido hialuronico labios

Dissolve hyaluronic acid in under-eye circles

Disolver ácido hialurónico en ojeras

Dissolve hyaluronic acid in nose

Disolver ácido hialurónico en nariz

Dissolve hyaluronic acid in nasolabial folds

Disolver ácido hialurónico en surcos nasogenianos

What does dissolving hyaluronic acid involve?

The treatment is carried out entirely in the medical consultation at the Instituto de Benito in Barcelona or Madrid, in an outpatient session always designed by a registered aesthetic doctor. It consists of the following steps:

01

Personalised medical assessment:

valoracion personalizada

Before the treatment, an assessment will be carried out with the aesthetic doctor at the Instituto de Benito. We will study your case, listen to your objectives, rule out contraindications, and design a personalised plan for you. The first aesthetic medical visit will cost €50 (deductible from the first treatment).

02

Advanced skin analysis with NESAI:

ecografia

A technology based on high-resolution medical ultrasound that allows an in-depth study of the skin and tissues.

03

Treatment preparation:

preparación intervencion

The preparation is simple: the area must be clean and free of creams. The doctor will advise if it is necessary to avoid any medication (anticoagulants, NSAIDs) in the days prior to minimise bruising, and discuss with you any relevant circumstances for your safety. Before application, it is recommended to perform a test dose on the forearm and assess the response after 20 minutes.

04

Application of treatment in consultation

Poniendose hilos tensores

The doctor disinfects the area, applies topical anaesthesia if necessary, and performs the microinjections with a very fine needle or occasionally with a cannula, following the designed plan. The session is carried out entirely in consultation and the patient resumes their routine immediately.

05

Start seeing yourself as you want to feel

verte como quieres sentirte

The results appear within the timeframe planned for the treatment, with a natural and harmonious finish. The doctor provides you with home care instructions and schedules follow-up reviews.

Pre and post treatment of dissolving hyaluronic acid

Before the treatment

Attend with the area clean. Inform the doctor which previous product you received and when (if possible, bring the product details). If you have a history of allergy to hyaluronidase or previous allergy test, indicate it.

Pre and post treatment of dissolving hyaluronic acid

After the treatment

Mild swelling, sensitivity and possible small bruises for 24-72 hours. The dissolution is visible at 24-48 hours and complete in a few days. Do not apply anything to the area for 48 hours. If you plan a new filler, wait at least 2-4 weeks to assess the real state of the area.

Additional specific indications: Swelling or small bruise 24-72 hours.

What is the price of a hyaluronidase treatment

The price starts from €250.

The final price depends on the area or areas to be treated, the product or cocktail used and the number of sessions the doctor recommends after assessment. The first aesthetic medical visit costs €50 (deductible from the first treatment). We offer financing for prolonged treatments and packages.

Are you suitable for applying hyaluronidase?

Hyaluronidase is indicated for people in good general health who meet one of these profiles. The final suitability is confirmed by the doctor after personalised assessment.

Our medical group facial aesthetic medicine

An aesthetic doctor from the IdB team assesses whether the dissolution of the filler is necessary and the correct indication, deciding on the dose and area based on the previous product and the result to be corrected.

Commitment to facial aesthetic medicine

Hyaluronidase is a safety and correction tool that is only administered by an experienced aesthetic doctor and always after case assessment.

At Instituto de Benito, patient safety comes before any aesthetic goal. We work with audited clinical protocols, CE-marked medical health products and batch traceability, single-use instruments, dedicated aesthetic medicine rooms, and personalised follow-up between sessions. We never delegate a medical-aesthetic procedure to non-medical personnel.

Medical evidence and support

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme recognised by the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) and by the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SEME) as a correction and safety tool in aesthetic medicine. Its availability in any centre applying hyaluronic acid is considered a safety standard by international aesthetic medicine guidelines. SEME recommends that no treatment with hyaluronic acid be carried out in centres where hyaluronidase is not available for use in case of emergency.

Frequently asked questions about hyaluronidase

When is hyaluronidase used?

To correct asymmetries, overcorrections, product migrations, nodules or unnatural results after a hyaluronic acid filler, and in aesthetic emergencies.

How long does it take for the filler to dissolve?

The dissolution is visible within 24-48 hours and is completed in a few days.

How much does it cost?

€250. Locations in Barcelona and Madrid.

Does it dissolve only the product or also my own hyaluronic acid?

It primarily dissolves the exogenous hyaluronic acid (the injected one). The endogenous one is slightly reabsorbed and regenerates naturally within a few weeks.

When can I have a filler again after a dissolution?

Usually in 2-4 weeks, once the inflammation has subsided and the real state of the area can be appreciated.

In which cases is hyaluronidase used?

To correct asymmetries, overcorrections, product migration, visible nodules or unnatural results after a hyaluronic acid filler. Also in emergencies (vascular occlusion, intense inflammatory reaction) where the product needs to be dissolved immediately.

Does it dissolve only the injected hyaluronic acid or also the natural one in my skin?

It primarily dissolves the exogenous hyaluronic acid (the injected one). The natural one is slightly reabsorbed and regenerates naturally within a few weeks, so the effect on skin quality is temporary and without long-term consequences.

When can I have a filler again after a dissolution?

Usually in 2-4 weeks, once the inflammation has subsided and the real state of the area can be appreciated. The doctor will indicate the exact time according to your progress and the previous product.

Does hyaluronidase work with all fillers?

Only with hyaluronic acid. It does not dissolve other products such as biostimulators (polylactic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite), silicone or non-absorbable products. That is why the choice of injectable product is key: hyaluronic acid is one of the few that has an "antidote".

Is it safe?

Yes, when administered by an experienced doctor. The most relevant risk is an allergic reaction, which is very rare; in patients with doubts or a history of allergies, the doctor can perform a prior test.
