What is hyaluronidase treatment?
Hyaluronidase is a medical enzyme that dissolves previously injected hyaluronic acid. It is used to correct asymmetries, overcorrections, migration, nodules or unnatural-looking results, and in aesthetic emergencies. It must be administered only by a qualified medical professional.

The final price depends on the area or areas to be treated, the product or cocktail used and the number of sessions the doctor recommends after the consultation. What does dissolving hyaluronic acid involve?
The treatment is carried out entirely in a medical office at Instituto de Benito in Barcelona or Madrid, in an outpatient session that is always planned by a licensed aesthetic doctor. It consists of the following steps:
Personalized medical assessment
Before treatment, you will have a consultation with the aesthetic doctor at Instituto de Benito. We will study your case, listen to your goals, rule out contraindications and design a personalized plan for you. The first aesthetic medicine consultation costs €50 (deductible from your first treatment).
Skin ultrasound with NESAI
When the doctor considers it necessary, a NESAI Derm ultrasound is performed in Barcelona to assess the skin before treating: dermis thickness, density, collagen, fibers and sun damage.
Preparing for the treatment
Preparation is simple: the area must be clean and free of creams. The doctor will tell you whether you should avoid any medication (anticoagulants, NSAIDs) in the days beforehand to minimize bruising, and will discuss with you any circumstances relevant to your safety. Before the application, it is recommended to perform a test dose on the forearm and assess the response after 20 minutes.
Treatment application in the clinic
The doctor disinfects the area, applies topical anesthesia if necessary and performs the microinjections with a very fine needle or sometimes with a cannula, following the planned design. The session is carried out entirely in the office and the patient returns to their routine immediately.

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme recognized by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) and by the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SEME) as a correction and safety tool in aesthetic medicine. Its availability in any center that administers hyaluronic acid is considered a safety standard by international aesthetic medicine guidelines. The SEME recommends that no hyaluronic acid treatment be performed in centers where hyaluronidase is not available for use in an urgent or emergency situation

It mainly dissolves exogenous hyaluronic acid (the injected product). Your own is slightly reabsorbed and regenerates naturally within a few weeks.
What is hyaluronidase used for?
To correct asymmetries, overcorrections, product migration, visible nodules or unnatural-looking results after a hyaluronic acid filler. Also in emergencies (vascular occlusion, intense inflammatory reaction) where the product needs to be dissolved immediately.
How soon can I get filler again after dissolving it?
Usually at 2-4 weeks, once the swelling has subsided and the true condition of the area can be seen. The doctor will tell you the exact timing based on your progress and the previous product.
Does hyaluronidase work on all fillers?
Only on hyaluronic acid. It does not dissolve other products such as biostimulators (polylactic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite), silicone or non-resorbable products. That is why the choice of injectable product is key: hyaluronic acid is one of the few that has an "antidote".
Is hyaluronidase safe?
Yes, when it is administered by an experienced doctor. The most relevant risk is an allergic reaction, which is very uncommon; in patients with doubts or a history of allergy, the doctor can perform a test beforehand.
