Liposculpture is a cosmetic surgery procedure that removes localized fat and redefines the body's silhouette in a balanced, natural way. Unlike other techniques, it does not focus solely on removing fat, but on sculpting the body contour while respecting each patient's proportions.

Types of liposculpture
High-definition liposculpture
A technique aimed at marking and highlighting the body's anatomy, defining muscle lines and contours for a more athletic, sculpted look.
Liposculpture with VASER technology
It uses ultrasound to work on the fat more precisely and less traumatically, allowing greater definition, better skin retraction and a more comfortable recovery.
Liposculpture with fat transfer
It combines fat removal with its reuse in other areas of the body (such as the buttocks, hips or face) to improve volume and shape in a natural, balanced way.

What does the liposculpture process involve?
Liposculpture is surgery performed in an operating room under medical supervision. The surgeon removes localized fat with fine cannulas through small incisions and works on the contour to sculpt the silhouette. With detailed planning beforehand, the result is adapted to each patient's anatomy.
The steps for having liposculpture at IdB are:
Assessment and understanding
The consultation is held with the surgeon who will perform your operation, who will analyze your anatomy and your goals and define the liposculpture strategy best suited to you. To book the appointment, a payment of €80 must be made in advance. If you cannot travel, the first visit can also be done by video call with the surgeon who would operate on you: it costs €50, which is deducted if you decide to have surgery.
Preparing for the surgery
Before surgery, the procedure is carefully planned, defining the areas to be sculpted, the volume of fat to be worked on and the most suitable technique (high-definition liposculpture, VASER or liposculpture with fat transfer).

Liposculpture with Synapta®: an easier recovery
For years, this surgery has been associated with a recovery marked by a feeling of tightness, swelling and some discomfort in the treated area. However, advances in medical protocols now make it possible to approach recovery from a more advanced perspective.
At Instituto de Benito we apply Synapta®, a protocol designed to support the body through its recovery process after surgery, helping to make the experience more manageable and controlled.
How is recovery after surgery improved?
Beyond the conventional use of medication, this approach focuses on the body's neurophysiological response after surgery. Through specific techniques, it aims to modulate inflammation, reduce tissue tension and improve the body's adaptation to the surgical change.
- Control of tissue tension: After surgery, the tissues reorganize and can create a feeling of tightness. The protocol helps reduce this tension, allowing a more gradual adaptation.

How much does liposculpture cost and what does it include?

Liposculpture at Instituto de Benito starts from €4,500 and varies depending on the number and extent of the areas treated, the technique used, the areas receiving the fat graft, the length of the operation and the tests and follow-up included, adapting to each patient.

What are the risks of liposculpture?
The fat is removed; the skin decides the result
Liposculpture removes fat and redistributes it, but it does not tighten the skin. If the skin has good elasticity, it adapts to the new contour; if not, laxity remains, and the result then depends on adding a step that does remove skin.
That is why skin quality is examined at the consultation before the technique is proposed, and sometimes something else is recommended.
Expected effects
- Swelling that takes weeks to go down; the result becomes visible gradually.
- Bruising in the treated areas.
- Temporary hardened areas and lumps that resolve with massage and drainage.
- Areas of reduced sensation for weeks or months.
Less common risks
- Contour irregularities or asymmetries, which may require a touch-up.
- Seroma.
- Skin laxity if the skin does not retract.
- Changes in skin color in the treated area.
- Infection.
- Exceptional serious complications, such as fat embolism or injury to an internal organ. They are very rare, which is why the surgery is performed in an operating room with an anesthesiologist.
Who is not a suitable candidate: contraindications for liposculpture

What results can I expect?
A more defined, balanced and proportionate silhouette, with a sculpted, natural body contour. The changes can be seen from the first few weeks, but full recovery comes between 3 and 6 months, when the swelling disappears completely and the tissues adapt.

What are the risks of liposculpture?

Most common risks (and generally mild)
- Swelling and bruising: normal during the first few weeks.
- Pain or a feeling of tightness or pressure: temporary and controllable with medication.
- Seroma: a buildup of fluid that can be reabsorbed or easily drained.
- Temporary changes in sensation.
- Minor contour irregularities while the tissues are adapting.
Uncommon risks
- Post-operative infection.
- Delayed healing or small stitches opening.
- Adverse reaction to anesthesia.
- More marked asymmetries or the need for a touch-up in specific cases.
Does the fat come back?
The fat that is removed does not come back in those areas, but if there is significant weight gain, fat can accumulate in other areas of the body.
When can I get back to normal life?
Most patients can lead a fairly normal life within 7–10 days, although full recovery and tissue stabilization take several weeks.
Is it mandatory to wear a compression garment?
Yes. Wearing compression garments is essential to reduce swelling and help the skin adapt properly to the new contour.
When can I exercise or go in the sun?
Exercise: light activity at 3–4 weeks; strenuous exercise from 6–8 weeks. Sun or beach: after 8 weeks, always with high sun protection on the scars.
Can liposculpture be combined with other procedures?
Yes. It is very often combined with a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), fat transfer or liposuction in other areas, always after a personalized medical consultation.
What happens if I lose or gain weight afterward?
Moderate weight changes do not usually alter the result significantly. Maintaining a stable weight helps preserve the results for longer.
