Eye micropigmentation is a non-invasive medical-aesthetic treatment that deposits pigment along the line right next to the lashes or in the form of eyeliner to visually add density, define the contour of the eye and add depth, with no need for daily makeup.
It is performed with a digital dermograph and sterile single-use needles. Unlike makeup, the pigment does not run, does not smudge with sweat or tears and does not rub off when you rub your eyes. The feeling is of always “looking well,” even when you have just woken up.
At Instituto de Benito the treatment is carried out after a personalized consultation to decide the technique, color and line thickness based on the shape of the eye and your aesthetic goals.
Types of eye micropigmentation
Also called “between-the-lashes” micropigmentation or “lash line enhancement.” The space between the lashes is micropigmented to create the optical effect of a denser, darker lash line. The result does not look like eyeliner: it looks like having more lashes. It is the most subtle and flattering technique, ideal for anyone who wants intensity without the treatment being noticeable.
A defined eyeliner line, thin or thick according to preference, with no upward flick. It is the option for anyone who already lines their eyes every day and wants to wake up with their eyes defined without spending time in front of the mirror.
It is done in black or dark brown (the latter is the favorite choice for a natural finish, especially in patients with brown or blonde hair).
A variant of classic eyeliner that includes an upward flick at the outer corner of the eye, creating the “cat eye” effect. It visually lifts the eyes, elongates the eye and offsets mild drooping of the upper eyelid without resorting to surgery.
It can also be done on both the upper and lower lash line (the lower line is always more subtle), and in black or brown.
The treatment uses a digital dermograph with a very fine needle and safe pigments formulated specifically for the eye area (free from irritating iron oxide). It is completed in two sessions 4–6 weeks apart: the first for design and initial pigmentation, the second as a touch-up.
Before treatment, a consultation with the specialist analyzes the shape of the eye (almond, round, downturned, monolid), any existing asymmetry, the space between the lashes, your eye health history (contact lenses, blepharitis, chronic conjunctivitis, allergies), your makeup habits and your aesthetic goals. The consultation costs €50.
The choice between black and brown is made based on hair color, the natural color of the lashes and the desired effect. Brown is the most versatile option for natural finishes; black is the classic choice for a more intense look or bold eyeliner.
Come without eye makeup, false lashes or extensions. If you wear contact lenses, bring your glasses: contact lenses cannot be worn during treatment or for the following 3 days. Avoid taking vasodilators 48 hours beforehand.
The session lasts between 90 and 120 minutes. A topical anesthetic cream is applied to the eyelid, so the procedure is virtually painless. The specialist works with the eye closed and the area protected. The lash line is scrupulously respected to avoid affecting the follicle.
At 4–6 weeks, the touch-up session takes place. The color is intensified, the line is adjusted and small asymmetries are corrected. The result lasts between 24 and 36 months, as the eyelid is one of the areas with the lowest cell turnover and the best pigment retention.

Both prices include the initial pigmentation session and the touch-up session at 4–6 weeks. The color (black or brown) and the style (natural lash line enhancement or eyeliner with an upward flick) are decided at the consultation at no extra cost.
If your case requires prior pigment removal of earlier work, that treatment is billed separately (see the micropigmentation removal page).

Eye micropigmentation is the most delicate of the four cosmetic micropigmentation areas, because of the proximity to the eyeball and the sensitivity of the area. It is performed with certified materials and specific protocols to ensure safety.
The eye area leaves no room for improvisation: it is the area where the difference is most noticeable between a treatment performed by a technician trained in a medical center and work done in an establishment without health oversight.
