Neck lift cost: from €7,500 and what it depends on
An isolated neck lift at Instituto de Benito costs from €7,500. It includes the team's fees, anaesthesia, the operating theatre, pre-operative tests and follow-up visits during the first year. The final price depends on the technique and the extent of the surgery, and you get it in writing after the assessment with the surgeon who will operate.

Your neck lift starts here

What exactly are you paying for?
A neck lift, or cervicoplasty, works on three layers at once: the sagging skin, the fat under the chin and the platysma muscle, which forms the vertical bands that show when the neck is tensed. Repositioning all of this together is what restores the angle between the neck and the jaw. That is why its price cannot be compared with that of a treatment that only improves the skin or removes fat.
The surgery takes between an hour and a half and three hours, under general anaesthesia or deep sedation. For an isolated neck lift in a young patient, it can be done without an overnight stay. When it is combined with a SMAS facelift, the patient stays in hospital for 24 hours under monitoring.
What is included in the quote and what is not?
What is included
- Specialist's fees
- Fees of the rest of the medical team
- Materials specified in the quote
- Operating theatre and day hospital (same-day discharge)
- Anaesthesia
- Private room if needed
- Medication during the hospital stay
- Nursing wound care
- Follow-up visits with the specialist
- Pre-operative tests (blood tests, ECG, X-ray, etc.)
Follow-up visits are a part of the price that people tend to overlook. After a neck lift we see the patient at 7 to 10 days to remove the stitches, and then at three weeks, three months, six months and one year, always with the same surgeon who operated. The first weeks matter in the neck, and the person following the recovery is the one who knows what was done inside.
What is not included
- Assessments or clearances from other specialists, if needed
- Medication after hospital discharge
- Post-operative garments (compression garments, bands, etc.), unless specified
- Complementary recovery treatments (lymphatic drainage, physiotherapy, laser, etc.)
- Costs arising from medical complications not attributable to the surgery
- Re-operations or touch-up surgery not planned initially
- Additional hospital stays not planned
- Travel, accommodation or meals for the patient and companions
- Sick leave, certificates or additional paperwork
- Any material or procedure not expressly specified in the quote

Why does one neck cost more than another?
Because of what each one needs. In some necks the problem is almost all skin, others have very marked platysmal bands, and in others the double chin hides laxity that only shows once the fat is removed. The more extensive the surgery and the longer it takes in theatre, the higher the quote. It also matters whether it is combined with other procedures at the same time; the most common are the SMAS facelift, chin surgery and blepharoplasty.
The first visit and financing at Instituto de Benito
The first visit costs €80, which is deducted from the surgery if you decide to go ahead. If you cannot come in person, it can be done by video call with the surgeon who would operate on you, for €50, which is also deducted.
The procedure can be financed interest-free over short terms, or over longer terms at a fixed interest rate. Amounts from €1,000 to €21,000 can be financed.
Frequently asked questions about neck lift cost
Neck lift or full facelift?
It depends on where the ageing is. If it is concentrated below the oval of the face, in the double chin, the neck bands and the jawline, and the middle third of the face is holding up well, the neck alone is enough. If the laxity also affects the face, the usual approach is to do both at the same time in a single operation. A full facelift starts at €12,000, and the article on facelift cost explains the differences between techniques.
What if I only have a double chin?
If the problem is only fat and the skin is still elastic, it may be enough to remove the double chin with liposuction, which starts at €3,200. A neck lift is indicated when there is also laxity, banding or a lost angle. We see patients who had double chin liposuction years ago when what they really had was laxity, and who now need the full correction. That is why the indication is decided after examining the neck, before looking at the price.
If the laxity is mild, non-surgical options are also considered, such as focused ultrasound, deep radiofrequency or thread lifts. We only propose surgery when the anatomy justifies it.
How long does what you pay for last?
As a guide, the result lasts between five and eight years. It is an average, and it can be more or less in each patient. What makes the difference is the quality of the skin and tissues and genetics, more than the technique. Ageing continues, but the neck looks more defined than it would without the operation.
