What is platelet-rich plasma treatment?
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a procedure that uses the patient's own autologous blood. After a minimal blood draw, the sample is processed by centrifugation to obtain a fraction with a higher concentration of platelets. This fraction can then be administered, at the doctor's discretion, in areas such as the face, neck, décolletage, hands or scalp.
The purpose of this treatment is to support the physiological processes of tissue regeneration. Results may vary depending on each patient's individual characteristics and must be assessed by a qualified healthcare professional.

What does platelet-rich plasma treatment involve?
The treatment is carried out entirely in a medical consultation room at Instituto de Benito in Barcelona or Madrid, in an outpatient session always designed and performed by a licensed aesthetic doctor. It consists of the following steps:

A small amount of the patient's blood is drawn, centrifuged to obtain platelet-rich plasma and applied by microinjections in the area to be treated. It is an outpatient procedure that lets you return to your routine immediately.

Who is not a candidate: contraindications for platelet-rich plasma
Patient safety comes before any aesthetic result. Platelet-rich plasma should not be performed, or should be postponed, in the following cases:

Risks and possible side effects of platelet-rich plasma
Platelet-rich plasma is safe when performed by a licensed doctor in an authorized center using approved medical products. Even so, every medical procedure has a profile of possible effects that it is only honest to share with you.

What percentage of patients does platelet-rich plasma for hair loss work for?
