What is Endoscopic Lifting?
One of the age symptoms that we handle the worst is in the eyes. Over time, and sometimes at early ages, the eyebrows tend to droop and there is an excess of skin on the upper eyelid. The optical result of this natural process is smaller, sadder, and more tired-looking eyes.
84% of patients who come to rejuvenate an upper eyelid need a eyebrow lift, and the endoscopic lifting, is at the forefront of minimally invasive surgical interventions for orbital rejuvenation: eyelids and eyebrows.
Dr. Javier de Benito, an expert in Frontal Endoscopic Surgery, one of the pioneers in Spain (since 1998) and recognized in Europe, tells us that the advantages of this intervention are: minimal scars, a very natural result, and a quick recovery.
For Dr. Javier de Benito, "most patients who come to the consultation presenting droopy eyelids or excess skin on the upper eyelids, it is usually due to the descent of the eyebrows, which produce an excess of skin on the outer part of the eye and a sad look. Therefore, when performing a blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery, and we need to remove the excess skin on the upper eyelid, we must lift the eyebrows."
For Dr. de Benito, "the endoscopic lifting unlike the coronal lifting, (with an incision from ear to ear within the scalp), is a minimally invasive intervention, in which the patient can resume daily life immediately, and in addition to removing the muscle that produces frown lines, it improves forehead wrinkles and crow's feet area."
Protocol
The eyebrow lift is performed through a minimally invasive surgery. A single 1 cm incision in the hair area is sufficient. With endoscopy and with the help of a camera, the eyebrows are repositioned in the desired area.
In addition to the eyebrow, the forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and periorbital area are also treated. It is a very quick and non-traumatic intervention thanks to the endoscope. The surgeon works with a video camera that has the diameter of a pen. Few and small incisions are needed, which will always be made under the hair.
Frequently asked questions about endoscopic lifting
What is endoscopic lifting and what problems does it correct?
Endoscopic lifting is a minimally invasive surgery aimed at rejuvenating the look. It lifts droopy eyebrows, corrects excess skin on the upper eyelid, and improves the appearance of eyes that look small, sad, or tired. It also acts on forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and the periorbital area.
Why is a blepharoplasty often not enough?
In most cases, the excess skin of the upper eyelid is not only due to the eyelid itself but to the descent of the eyebrows. In fact, a high percentage of patients consulting for upper eyelid rejuvenation need to lift the eyebrow to achieve a natural and harmonious result.
How does endoscopic lifting differ from other types of lifting?
Unlike the traditional coronal lifting, endoscopic lifting is much less invasive. It uses minimal incisions, hidden in the scalp, offers virtually imperceptible scars, a very natural result, and a faster recovery.
How is the procedure performed?
The procedure is performed through a small incision of approximately 1 cm in the hair area. With the help of an endoscope and a microcamera, the surgeon repositions the eyebrows to their ideal position and treats forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and crow's feet. It is a precise, safe, and minimally traumatic technique.
How long does recovery take and when are the results visible?
Recovery is quick, allowing a prompt return to daily life. The results are visible from the first few weeks and are notable for their naturalness, providing a more open, rested, and rejuvenated look without changing the facial expression.
