What does the price of your mentoplasty depend on?
There is no set fee per technique. Two people who ask for "a mentoplasty" may need very different operations, and that is what determines the quote.
1. The technique
When the chin lacks projection, the simplest option is usually a silicone implant placed through a small incision inside the mouth. If the problem is size, height or asymmetry, the bone may need to be worked on: reduced, advanced or centered by means of an osteotomy. An osteotomy is a longer operation, performed by surgeons with maxillofacial training, and its price is always set after studying the case.
2. Time in the operating room and anesthesia
A mentoplasty takes between 60 and 90 minutes and you usually go home the same day. It can be done under local or general anesthetic. Which one is right depends on the technique and on each patient, and it is decided at the consultation. Time in the operating room and the type of anesthesia affect the cost.
3. Whether it is combined with other surgery
The chin and the nose are almost always assessed together, because both define your profile. That is why mentoplasty is often combined with rhinoplasty. It is also combined with double chin removal when the neck lacks definition. Doing both in the same operation adds time in the operating room, but saves a second anesthetic and a second recovery.
4. The implant
If an implant is used, its size and shape are chosen to suit your profile and the projection you are after. The material is set out in the quote.

- Travel, accommodation and meals

Before comparing two quotes, check that both include the same items. A lower price that leaves out anesthesia or follow-up visits ends up costing more.
Chin augmentation with filler or surgery: how do the prices compare?
