His full career is on Dr. Martínez Murillo's profile.

What is done in a cruroplasty (thigh lift)?

The surgeon makes the incision in the groin crease and, if there is a lot of sagging, extends it along the inner thigh. The excess skin is removed, fat is suctioned out when there is also fat, and the tissue is tightened. It takes between two and four hours under general anesthesia. It can be a localized lift, a full lift or one combined with liposuction; which one suits you depends on the examination.

The scar is permanent and lies in an area that rubs when you walk and sit, so it needs care for longer and may drop over the months if the tissue does not hold it well. If you do not accept it, we do not operate. Risks and contraindications are on the main procedure page.

How much does a thigh lift cost in Madrid?

A thigh lift in Madrid starts at €7,500 (VAT not included). The size of the area, the technique and the operating time affect the figure, which you receive in writing at the end of your consultation.

The fees, operating room and night in hospital, anesthesia, tests, wound care and check-ups are included. Medication after discharge, compression stockings and garments, and any liposuction not listed in the quote are not. The full list is on the leg lift page; for payment in installments, see financing.

Where am I operated on and where is my aftercare?

The operation takes place at Hospital San Francisco de Asís (C. de Joaquín Costa, 28, 28002 Madrid), with a qualified anesthesiologist and one night in hospital. The next day you need someone to pick you up, because you will not be able to drive.

Wound care and check-ups with the doctor are at Serrano, 87, ground floor, in the Salamanca district.

What is the process like if you live in Madrid?

From day one to discharge, step by step.

  1. 01

    The consultation

Dr. Martínez Murillo assesses how much excess skin there is, whether there is fat and whether the circulation in your legs needs to be checked first, and chooses the type of lift with you. You leave with your quote.

  2. 02

    Before surgery

You have the pre-operative tests, included in the price, and stop smoking at least four weeks beforehand.

  3. 03

    In the hospital

You are operated on under general anesthesia at San Francisco de Asís and spend one night there, already wearing the compression garment.

  4. 04

    The following weeks

Wound care and check-ups at Serrano. It is normal for your thighs, knees and ankles to swell for weeks and for sitting to be uncomfortable. Social life usually resumes between the second and third week.

Can I have surgery in Madrid if I come from another part of Spain or another country?

Yes. The video consultation with Dr. Martínez Murillo, at €50, is a good first step: he assesses your case, gives you a quote, and the fee is deducted if you have surgery. Before surgery you will need to come in so he can examine you.

How many days to spend in Madrid after the night in hospital and how many times to come back is something we discuss with you after that consultation. Travel and hotel are at your own expense, and the doctor will tell you at your check-up when you can take the train or plane home.
