Breast lift cost: from €7,000 and what affects the price
A breast lift (mastopexy) at Instituto de Benito costs from €7,000 (VAT not included). It includes the team's fees, anesthesia, the operating room, pre-op tests, wound care and follow-up visits. The final price depends on how much the breasts have dropped, the technique and whether an implant is needed, and you receive it in writing after your consultation with the surgeon who will operate.

Your breast lift starts here

What exactly are you paying for?
A breast lift repositions the breast when it has lost firmness or dropped over the years, after pregnancy or after losing a lot of weight. The gland is reshaped to give it support, the areola and nipple are lifted back into place and the excess skin is removed. On its own it does not add volume. If the upper part of the breast lacks fullness, we consider combining the lift with an implant in the same operation.
The surgery takes between 90 and 150 minutes under general anesthetic, and you go home the same day. Most patients get back to their routine in about 10 days and are socializing normally within one or two weeks.
What is included in the quote and what is not?
What is included
- Specialist surgeon's fees
- Fees for the rest of the medical team
- Materials specified in the quote
- Operating room and day hospital (discharged the same day)
- Anesthesia
- Stay in a private room if needed
- Medication during your hospital stay
- Wound care with the nursing team
- Follow-up visits with the specialist
- Pre-op tests (blood tests, ECG, X-ray, etc.)
Your follow-up visits are with the same specialist who operated, at the same clinic. They are concentrated in the first few weeks and then spaced out depending on how each patient progresses. The stitches come out between day 10 and day 14, at one of those visits.
What is not included
- Assessments or clearance from other specialists, if needed
- Medication after you leave the hospital
- Post-surgical garments (compression garments, bands, etc.), unless specified
- Additional recovery treatments (lymphatic drainage, physiotherapy, laser, etc.)
- Costs arising from medical complications not attributable to the surgery itself
- Further operations or touch-up surgery not planned at the outset
- Unplanned additional hospital stays
- Travel, accommodation or meals for the patient and companions
- Medical leave forms, certificates or additional paperwork
- Any material or procedure not expressly specified in the quote
With a breast lift, the garment that matters is the post-surgical bra, worn for the first few weeks to support the new position of the breasts. Like the other garments, it is charged separately.

Why does one breast lift cost more than another?
Mainly because of how far the breasts have dropped, since that determines the technique and the time in the operating room. There are three incision patterns:
- Periareolar: an incision around the areola, for mild or moderate sagging. This leaves the shortest scar.
- Vertical: adds a line from the areola down to the crease under the breast, in an "I" shape. It is used for moderate sagging.
- Inverted T: adds a horizontal line in the crease. It is kept for advanced sagging with a lot of excess skin and leaves the most scarring, although it sits under your bra and swimwear.
We always plan the shortest incision that each patient's degree of sagging allows.
The other factor is the implant. Adding implants raises the price, and the quote with an implant is given after the consultation. When there is good volume and the skin is in good condition, the breast is lifted using your own tissue, without an implant. If the upper pole lacks volume or the skin is very stretched, we suggest combining the two. That decision is made after examining you at the consultation.
It also matters whether it is done alongside another operation. The most common are breast augmentation and liposuction. Our published cases also include patients who had ruptured implants removed and the lift done with their own fat in the same operation.
The first consultation and financing
The first consultation costs €80, which is deducted from the cost of surgery if you go ahead. If you cannot come in, it can be done by video call with the surgeon who would operate on you, for €50, which is also deducted. At that visit we measure the degree of sagging, decide on the technique and whether an implant is needed, and you leave with a fixed written quote.
A breast lift can be financed over up to 48 months, with the first 12 months interest-free. Financing is available from €1,000 to €21,000, and the account holder can be the patient or a family member.
The price is practically the same in Barcelona and Madrid. In Barcelona the surgery includes a session of the Synapta® recovery protocol. In Barcelona the surgeons are Dr. Marina García and Dr. Víctor Cabrera Mas, and in Madrid Dr. Lucrecia Villanueva and Dr. Antonio Martínez Murillo. The specialist who assesses you is the same one who operates on you and handles your follow-up afterward.
Frequently asked questions about the cost of a breast lift
Breast lift, breast augmentation or breast reduction?
All three are breast operations, but they solve different problems, which is why they are priced differently.
A breast lift sits in between: it keeps the volume you have, or tops it up with an implant, and what changes is the position and shape. If you are happy with the size of your breasts and what has changed is where they sit, the right option is a breast lift without an implant.
How much does breast augmentation cost?
Breast augmentation starts at €6,250 (VAT not included). It adds volume with implants or, in some cases, with your own fat, takes between 60 and 90 minutes and does not usually require an overnight stay. If the breasts have also dropped, the augmentation is sometimes combined with a breast lift to raise them. Our breast augmentation page explains the surgery step by step.
How much does breast reduction cost?
Breast reduction starts at €8,500 (VAT not included). It removes breast tissue, fat and skin and repositions the areola, takes between 120 and 180 minutes and usually involves one night in the hospital. Many reductions also need the sagging corrected, so the lift is included in the same operation, which then takes longer and costs more. You will find the full details of the surgery on our breast reduction page.
What can change the result later on?
The result of the lift lasts if the skin keeps its quality, but some things can alter it. A later pregnancy changes the volume and position of the breasts, and so does significant weight gain or loss. That is why it is best to have surgery once you have finished having children, or to accept that revision surgery might be needed later, which would not be covered by the original quote. If you plan to breastfeed, raise it at the consultation, because it depends on the technique.
