Exilis Ultra 360: what it is, what it does and what we use instead today
Exilis Ultra 360 is a monopolar radiofrequency device with ultrasound, used to firm the skin and reduce localized fat without surgery. We no longer work with Exilis at Instituto de Benito: today we use Exion®, which combines monopolar radiofrequency and ultrasound, on the face and body.

Exilis Ultra 360 is a monopolar radiofrequency device with ultrasound, used to firm the skin and reduce localized fat without surgery. We no longer work with Exilis at Instituto de Benito. Today we use Exion®, which combines monopolar radiofrequency and focused ultrasound: €80 per third of the face, and €150 per body area, at our Wellness space in Barcelona.
If you were looking for Exilis because someone recommended it or because you had it years ago, here is what it did, who it was suitable for and what we suggest now to get the same result.
Firm your skin with needle-free radiofrequency

What is Exilis Ultra 360?
Exilis Ultra 360 is an aesthetic device that delivers deep heat through monopolar radiofrequency combined with ultrasound. The heat stimulates collagen and elastin production, which firms the skin, and works on localized fat.
It was used in two treatment versions:
- Exilis facial: for sagging skin on the face, the jawline, the double chin and the eye area.
- Exilis body: for localized fat and loose skin on the abdomen, flanks, thighs or arms.
It is a non-invasive treatment: there are no needles or incisions, and you carry on as normal after the session.
Why we no longer use it and what Exion® is
At Instituto de Benito we have replaced Exilis with Exion®, a newer technology that works on the same principle: monopolar radiofrequency to heat the tissue deep down, combined with focused ultrasound. It is used for the same things as Exilis: treating skin laxity and localized fat without surgery.
If you had Exilis some time ago and want to pick the treatment up again, the assessment is the same: the specialist examines the area and suggests a plan of sessions with Exion®.
If you want to firm your face
Facial radiofrequency with Exion® targets firmness, jawline definition and skin quality. It can be done on the full face (about 40 to 45 minutes) or one third at a time: the upper third for the eye area and forehead, and the lower third for the jawline, double chin and neck (about 20 minutes each).
The course is 4 sessions, one a week. Each third of the face costs €80, and the full face starts at €250. Afterwards the skin stays slightly pink for 30 to 60 minutes and you can get back to your routine right away.
When the sagging is more marked, radiofrequency falls short. Other options are then considered, such as Ultherapy, thread lifts or collagen inducers. We explain them in our article on facial sagging and its treatments.
If you want to reduce fat and firm your body
Body radiofrequency with Exion® reduces localized fat in areas such as the belly, waist or thighs, firms the skin and improves its texture.
A full course is 6 sessions, from 20 minutes upwards depending on the area. Each area costs €150 and a maximum of two are treated on the same day.
That is what Sheila had: she had fat on her abdomen that would not shift with exercise or diet. She tells the story in her case.
When there is a large amount of fat, devices are not enough and we consider liposuction. Radiofrequency is sometimes done before liposuction to improve the result. More options in how to lose belly fat.
When will you see results and what are the side effects?
The change is gradual. The skin becomes firmer session by session and the result is assessed a few weeks after the last one, once the new collagen has had time to form.
After each session it is normal for the area to stay red for a while and feel slightly tender or swollen. Burns and blisters are rare: they are avoided by monitoring the skin temperature throughout the treatment.
Contraindications to radiofrequency
Those for Exion® are generally the same as for Exilis. It is not used, or is postponed, in these cases:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Pacemaker, defibrillator or other implanted electronic devices.
- Prostheses or metal implants in the area to be treated.
- Active cancer or recent radiotherapy.
- Blood clotting disorders.
- Infections, wounds or inflammation of the skin in the area, including flare-ups of eczema or rosacea.
The specialist goes through this with you at the assessment before the first session.
Where is it done?
Radiofrequency with Exion® is done at the Instituto de Benito Wellness space in Barcelona. This treatment is not offered at our Madrid clinic.
