What to look for in blepharoplasty before and after photos?
- The upper eyelid: the excess skin that hung over the lashes is removed and the crease shows again.
- The lower eyelid: the bags are removed (the fat can sit in three areas: inner, middle and outer) and the groove that gives the tired look is softened.
- Your expression: it has to stay yours. Blepharoplasty corrects skin and bags, not the shape of the eye.
- The scar: it sits in the natural crease of the upper eyelid or just below the lower lashes. At first it is pink, and over the months it blends into the crease.
When do you see the result of blepharoplasty?
Bruising of the lower eyelid takes about 10 days to go, and of the upper eyelid less. Most patients wait two weeks before going out without concealer. From then on the result keeps refining as the swelling goes down.
