What to look for in rhinoplasty before and after photos?

  • The bridge: the hump, dips or irregularities along the bridge are smoothed out and the profile becomes even.
  • The tip: if it drooped, was wide or poorly defined, it is repositioned and defined precisely.
  • Proportion with the face: a large, small or dominant nose breaks the balance of the face. The aim is for it to fit the rest of the face; making it smaller is not a goal in itself.
  • The columella: in open rhinoplasty there is a small incision between the nostrils. It shows for the first few weeks and stops being noticeable after about a year.

When do you see the result of rhinoplasty?

The splint comes off after 7-10 days and the bruising around the eyes fades within one to three weeks. Swelling goes down gradually (the tip takes longest) and, as a guide, full recovery comes between the fourth and sixth month.
