What to look for in otoplasty before and after photos?

  • How far it stands out: the ear is brought closer to the head by reshaping the cartilage, keeping it in proportion with the rest of the face rather than flattening it against the head.
  • The folds: the natural folds of the ear are redefined so its shape still looks natural.
  • Symmetry: if one ear was different from the other, they are balanced. A small difference between the two may remain, and this is explained before surgery.
  • The scar: it sits behind the ear, in the crease where it joins the head, and is barely visible.

When do you see the result of otoplasty?

After surgery you wear a band or bandage around the head that protects the ears and holds their new position, and some swelling and tenderness are usual in the first days. Progress is gradual: as the swelling goes down, the ears take on a more natural look. Olga’s photos were taken four months after surgery.

Results vary from one person to another. On the otoplasty page you will find the techniques, the price, the recovery and frequently asked questions.
